CDC is providing public health agencies with options to shorten the length of quarantine in some situations. Under these options, your local health department may decide quarantine can end:
1. After 10 days without a COVID-19 test, AND if the person has reported NO symptoms during the 10-day period.
2. After 7 days with a negative test result, AND if the person has reported NO symptoms during the 7-day period.
The best way to protect yourself and others is to stay home for 14 days if you think you’ve been exposed to someone who has COVID-19. Check your local health department’s website for information about options in your area to possibly shorten this quarantine period.
Quarantine helps prevent spread of disease that can occur before a person knows they have the virus. Learn more: https://bit.ly/3j8kR1T
