Antibacterial cleansers won't do anything to viruses. Bacteria and viruses are different animals. Even if an item claims to kill bacteria and viruses - and assuming you can find the product - you should check the label to see if it kills the type of virus you want to destroy. Here's what the CDC says about disinfecting hard surfaces: If surfaces are dirty, they should be cleaned using a detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.

For disinfection, most common EPA-registered household disinfectants should be effective.

Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for all cleaning and disinfection products for concentration, application method and contact time, etc.

Additionally, diluted household bleach solutions (at least 1000ppm sodium hypochlorite) can be used if appropriate for the surface. Follow manufacturer’s instructions for application, ensuring a contact time of at least 1 minute, and allowing proper ventilation during and after application. Check to ensure the product is not past its expiration date. Never mix household bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser. Unexpired household bleach will be effective against coronaviruses when properly diluted.

Prepare a bleach solution by mixing:

5 tablespoons (1/3 cup) bleach per gallon of water or

4 teaspoons bleach per quart of water.

No. It is telling you that it does not stay in the air, it falls to surfaces. It is all telling you that if you clean those surfaces as advised by the medical professionals, the virus will die as soon as you disinfect the surface. Hence, those numbers are not viable in a normal setting.

If you live in a lab environment, you should pay attention to the numbers; otherwise, leave them go by you.

How long has it truly been in this country??? Was the upper respiratory virus that made people ill back in January actually COVID???

They don't know folks. They don't know. When you are told to stay home from PHARMACY'S. Figure there is no way not to get it.

Let them hire some more actors. Looks and personality. A double threat guy

Covid-19 is the resulting disease. He should really be citing the coronavirus itself. Is this guy really from the CDC? Odd.

There are many variations of the Coronavirus so using the term COVID is more focused for viewers.

How do temp readings help as prevention if they can be contagious 2 days before any symptoms ?

Many infected, start w/ a fever (not all).... but it's a quick preventive to reduce bigger #'s of infected

something I have not seen...how long can it last on money? Money goes everywhere, and I was wondering if that could be an issue?

yes some stores have banned use of cash, coins...money is so dirty, even when not dealing with COVID...

That was not informative,

“hours, even days”

If you are doing testing let’s use precision of language.

CDC, do you realize that due to the trump administration a lot of us can't believe anything you say, or actually, don't say? Have you been muffled? I rely on my state and local authorities to give me advice. It's sad that you have lost your integrity. I never see you on "stage" with the trump show. Can't blame you tho.

I have a crows that come to feed outside my window every day and today there's one with a bad dry cough! Does this mean it's spreading to birds?
